About the Artist | D’Andra D’Artiste

I’ve always escaped into stories. I started reading fantasy when I was eight years old and painting when I was thirteen, long before I knew those two passions would shape my future.

Art became my way of making feelings visible. My early paintings were abstract, led entirely by emotion and intuition. Later, I fell in love with the beauty and drama of Renaissance art, and I realised I wanted to combine those worlds: expressive emotion and powerful storytelling.

After taking a break from art for a while, I began painting again in late 2025 with one clear intention: to bring to life the kinds of scenes that exist in my imagination, inspired by the books we all treasure. The ones with fierce women, starlit promises, and love that feels written into the sky.

When I read, I connect so deeply with the characters that I feel like I am experiencing every emotion alongside them; heartbreak, courage, fear, hope, and transformation. My goal as an artist is to take those feelings and translate them into paint, so that dreamers, collectors and readers can feel the same magic on their walls that they feel on the page.

Every painting I make is rooted in a real emotion, love, strength, heartbreak, healing, freedom - and shaped into something atmospheric and fantastical. Nothing excites me more than creating artwork that feels like stepping into a story.  It means the world to me that so many people connect with my work, that it finds a place in your book nooks, your bedrooms, your home libraries - the spaces where you dream.

If my art can make you feel something - anything - the way a favourite book does, then my job as an artist is complete.
